| Lynn Rowe Reed has been working as an artist for over twenty years. Her illustrations have appeared in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, and she has illustrated thirteen children’s books, including the hugely successful PUNCTUATION TAKES A VACATION. She is also the author of seven of these books. Reed was a presenter at the International reading Association Conference in Atlanta in 2008.
Reed employs a whimsical, contemporary style that is fresh and engaging to people of all ages. The New York Times (May 18, 2004) states that 'Lynn Rowe Reed's childlike acrylic paintings perfectly capture the mood of whimsical fantasy.'
Reed’s work has garnered many awards since the beginning of her career, and her work has appeared in The Best of Children’s Book Illustration Show at the Museum of American Illustration in New York City. She has recently completed an illustration for the National Public Radio website.
Lynn Rowe Reed works primarily in acrylic and gouache. She also incorporates scanned and photographed images into many of her painted images, manipulating them in Photoshop. For fun, Lynn creates ceramic art and steel sculptures. One of her steel sculptures can be seen in the office of Mr. Chris Henry, owner of C, Henry Steel. |
